What is my role as a Curator?
The role of being a curator is similar to being a creator of something. I am purely the one who started the exhibition, who owns it, keeps it, promotes it and does anything to it. I am in charge of organising the gallery also.
Why did i create this exhibition?
I created this exhibition for an art assignment for my school. We had to research artists on three key types of art. Contemporary Australian art, Urban and street art and Environmental art.
Why I chose these artists?
I chose these artists as I really loved their works. I chose people such as Above and Shepard Fairey as they used their artworks to send and convey messages to the world such as treating your neighbour with respect and having hope. I also chose Emily Kame Kngwarreye for her strong connections to the land of Australia. It connected to me as I love listening to the stories of Aboriginal dream time and how their perspective of the land has influenced our culture.
